1. Everything we set
If it is not in this table, we do not set it.
| Name | Category | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
strut_session |
Strictly necessary | Carries the form-submission token that stops another site from posting on your behalf, and keeps an admin signed in. | 2 hours |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Strictly necessary | Proves a form submission came from this site and not from another page open in your browser. | 2 hours |
strut_consent |
Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie choice so you are not asked again on every page. Stored in your browser, never sent to us. | 12 months |
_ga, _ga_* |
Analytics | Google Analytics. Tells apart a returning visitor from a new one so a visit is not counted twice. Set only if you accept analytics cookies. | Up to 24 months |
We also use your browser's local storage to remember your choice, so we stop asking. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
2. The two kinds
Necessary cookies carry the token that stops another site submitting a form as you, and remember your cookie choice. There is no toggle for them because the site cannot work without them.
Measurement is Google Analytics, used to count visits and see which cities people come from so we know where to launch first. It is off until you turn it on.
3. Changing your mind
Use in the footer of any page. It takes effect immediately: withdrawing stops the measurement for the rest of your visit and it is not loaded again.
Clearing site data in your browser resets us to asking you. Blocking all cookies will break the forms here, because the anti-forgery token is one.
4. Anyone else
Only Google, only for the measurement above, and only after you accept. The typeface comes from Google Fonts, which sees your IP as any file request does but sets no cookie. No videos, maps, social widgets or ad networks are embedded anywhere on this site.
5. If this page is wrong
The Privacy Policy covers everything else we hold. If what you see in your browser does not match this table, that is a bug and we want to hear about it: tell us.
